Reach Restoration

Reach Restoration is an extension of Emmanuel Church and an additional opportunity to spread the Gospel as we point young people, who had made the wrong choices in life, to the Cross of Christ. After all - addiction is a worship disorder, another form of idol worship and therefore sin.

Unlike popular belief and myths, we do not believe that addiction is a sickness and a disease from which there is no known cure. Rather we believe that addiction can be overcome because of the redemptive work of Christ on the cross. An addict has chosen to turn to their choice of addiction to solve the problems in their life. This only creates more problems and destruction. With REACH Restoration, addicts learn to turn to God by choosing Christ and the Kingdom of God as their destination.

We have deliberately moved away from the term ‘rehab’ as it is more than that. It is a place of restoration.

Currently, we have 18 students residing with us.

Our focus is the addict, now known as the ‘student’, and his loved ones coming to the saving knowledge of Christ and in the process being restored to that which God has in store for them. Hence the name Reach Restoration.

We are fully committed and accountable to God and our local church Emmanuel under the curatorship of Bishop (and pastor dude) Glenn Lyons.

Committed to Christ, Growing in Christ, Calling others to Christ

We are a gospel preaching church, seeking to live and proclaim Christ as Lord and Saviour.

We aim to call people to a committed relationship with Lord Jesus Christ, which is only achieved through genuine faith in Christ and his death upon the cross for our sin (Romans 3: 21-25; 5: 1-8). Only here can a real relationship with God begin.

Jesus calls us to be more than just professing Christians, he calls us to be active followers (Matthew 16;24). Following Jesus means a changed life, no longer for selfish sin but living in obedient daily faith in Christ. We place a strong focus on teaching that facilitates Christian growth in knowledge and application of God's Word.

The mission call of Christ is the very reason for our continued life on the earth as Christians. Jesus urges us to proclaim salvation in his name to all the peoples of the earth (Matthew 28; 18-20). To this end, we involve ourselves in local outreach as well as prayer and financial support of missionaries. We are committed to local community care and outreach projects.

Hi I’m Ronny and I’ve committed my life and my will into the care of God. This was not always the case as I was born into a family of alcoholism and addiction. At the age of 4 I was sent to a children’s home and there started my education in the art of manipulation and deception.

At the age of 16 I was an addict and by the time I was 20 years of age I was in prison. I had never known a father’s love and care, in actual fact I looked up to criminals as my mentors.

One fateful day, while still in prison, God rescued me and loved me. It was then that I realized that he is my Father full of grace and mercy. I accepted Christ as my Lord and Saviour and have never returned to addiction or crime.

I am currently part of the ministry team at Emmanuel and REACH Restoration where we offer addicts the opportunity to come to know Christ as their saviour and Lord.
